Brunswick – Brunswick Hotel

Playing a Sunday night show at the Brunswick Hotel with a bunch of great people. On at 6:30pm.
The event goes from 5pm – midnight, and promises to be almost too awesome. There are some great acts on, including Kelly Bruce, Carly Fern, Alie Pickin, Sam Cole, Azazeal, Isles, Frankie Andrew, James Mackey and Simon Windley. See you there.
Beer has been flowing here since the 1850s, but the Brunswick has taken care of itself and has renovated over time. Cosy touches like exposed brick, old fashioned carpet, bamboo blinds and mounted TVs ensure that the environment is far from sterile though, and the hotel’s unpretentiousness has proven popular with locals and students. The front room looks onto Sydney Road and has a quaint wooden dance floor, while at the back there is a pool table and windows looking onto Weston Street and nearby Barkly Square Shopping Centre. Besides the people-watching, there is plenty of imported beer, art on the walls and a magazine rack to entertain. If you get too absorbed in any of those pursuits there is a wall full of vintage clocks to remind you that it’s bedtime!
